[WELCOME TO JAM ROCK]

DAY-4  Sorry for the delay. However we (the hubby and the girls and I)  have been traveling. We are currently on our 4th day in Jamaica. It  has been a long time coming. I will continue to post when ever I can.
Also I have included some pic of my hair style for the remainder of my stay here, and todays outfit.
We went to the pool today and after sitting for about 10 hours yesterday to install these mini twist you would think that I would have laid off the swimming to a couple of days right. Nope! not I. I rather prefer the shrinkage that happens once I have wet my mini twists and condition them. Why is this you ask? well the top portion ( the crown of my head)  seems to be a lot straighter than the rest of my head. So it tends to do its own thing until I wet it and put on some leave-in hold. you will see what I mean when I  post the before and after the pool pictures. Write to you later.

Peace
This was right after my 10 hour marathon on my hair the front is alot straighter than the rest of my hair.
Piece I wore today to the yacht club's pool.

Back view of the piece  (purchased @ my local GOODWILL for $4.00)

After the pool and the leave-in hold. Like it much better this way.lol

[DAY 6]

So the 6th day is down. It was sort of a struggle today. The children and I went to a water park and well they had plenty of snacks (healthy). However, When I was done with my juice I was done there was no juicer any where in sight. So being there for about three hours almost got to me. So to help me not look in the snack bag and eat anything. I Just review my goals within, remembered why I was doing it and it took some convincing but I got through the day. Besides that I had three heads of hair to wash I emerged 2 hour later DONE.  More power to all the mother, father, grandparents who keep their children Natural.

Here is what the small twist I have had in for the past 6 days look after using the conditioner to remove the chlorine from my hair. ( many call this co-washing). Then I just let my hair air dry. I believe this style will be great for a Caribbean vacation, since the more it dry the more I love the style.

Peace and Love,
Maude

Hope you Like the pic.

[DAY 5 DOWN]

Hey loves,
Yes, Day 5 is done and on to Day 6.
- How do I feel?
For the most part I am really surprised at how well I am feeling. I have been going to the gym and exercising every chance i get ( meaning when the hubby gets home and I am able to seek out). Just came back from a jog around my local park with a friend.

-Do you see any difference?
Yes and No. I do believe if I went on a scale a weighted myself I will see a few pounds come off. But I have yet to check., most of it will be water weight.  The rest will take time an discipline.

-How long do you plan on doing this?
I will take it one day at a time. Listening to my  body will be key. Once I feel my body is ready (or may be me  who know) then I will end it. Some have gone for as long as 60 days.
(uhh we'll think about that one).

-Why in the WORLD are you doing this to yourself?
One reason is to prove to myself that I can, another is to flush out my system of all the toxins that has built up in the last couple of months. Granted as a vegan there is probably not very much internally you can flush someone might say. However, exterior toxins can and have affected many internally. So it is best to try to fast one way or another for at least 3 day. ( Ohh and sometime as a Vegan we don't normally eat cheese. but I do cheat especially with Pizza. Thought I do  suffer from doing that with really bad abdominal pain)

-Do you recommend it?
Though I do not have medical degree or license. I do think it is beneficial for everyone to fast or cleanse for 3 days or more. ( consult with said physician before changing you diet) Legally I am suppose to say that but i have not and will not consult anyone but myself in regards to myself

Peace and Love,
Maude

{THE BLOW-IRON}

Evening or shall I say morning... it has proved to be so difficult for me to update as often as i wanted to since the beginning of the business, homeschooling, driver to all activities. I really wish BLOGGEr had a software for the Blackberry  just like WORDPRESS and the Iphone app. Instead of the test a post which only gives you a certain amount of characters you can insert.

Ahh alas, it has been a little over 5 days since i have had this hair style, the cut was done by MOI as well as the styling. I really thought with all the hair I cut of it would have been much shorter. to my surprise it was that length.

Hope you like the mew cut!

{ALMOST THERE........BUT SOO FAR DONE}

Hey, I know it has been a while since I have been up dating my post. Not only has it been so crazy for me with all that is going on with school for my eldest, but also work has come into play.

Along with many other aspects of life, while sitting in the media room one morning on a chill day (as I would  call it) which was about 2 1/2 months ago. My husband and I were doing the usual reading different books and constantly sharing information back and forth. At some point  both of us in the mist of our reading and researching we stumble on to something that was different in text but similar in meaning pertain our eating habits. At that time we did not think out eating habits were really something that needed any dramatic change.

We were not eating any meat ( chicken, beef, goat...etc) However , sea food was our thing. Still eating everything us (not to say if you do eat these things you are less of a person or are wrong and I am right.) was the issue for us.

My husband was socializing on  a regular basis with an gentelman that was very much an interesting person to converse with. It was thorough numeros conversations that we came to get our own RESEARCH at hand and really decieded to explore our option. Cleansing was our first plan of action. get all the build up out and start fresh.

With that said the Gentelman had us meet his mother who is and Herbealist (Please keep an open mind to that title). We met (Annette Thomas) at 3:30 pm ( at least that was when we were scheduled to meet her but with two children to run after and get ready it was more like 3:45 pm) at the Dekalb Farmers Market. She had her hair in an afro as beautiful as she can be. When she stood to greet us she was this slender women who was confident in her steps as well as her words.  After studing for years and EDUCATING individuals, she is someone I have come to repect and learn from.

The objective of this meeting was not sell anything or prey as many of you reader might think. It was for her to get a sense of what our objectives were, and how she can better assist us to getting there with knowledge instead of perscriptions. We had a great straigh forward , no nonsense talk. She went from A-Z with us, explained and examine with us. We asked question and she answered. Many of the questions we asked she wanted us to research them for ourselves and make our understanding of it and  if and when it need more dysections she will make it a smooth recovery.

Annette gave us source of things we should keep in our diet and other that should be eliminated completely.  With that information at had I was to schedule the meals according ly.

Now I began this journey on the 1st of August 2010, so we have been at this for about 27 days. The most difficult part of this was the transition portion. getting all the right meals in at the right time for us and creating meals from nothing was soooo dfficult , we were really use to one way and having to changed that 360 degrees was very difficult.

Getting into a place where it was just GREAT

After meeting Annette there were alot of days that I even had to call her 3-4 time a day to just ask questions, and again she was a ton of help and inspiration.
As the days would follow I would she changes in our attitude, skin, hair and even apperance. I felt like I was walking on clouds. LITERALLY.

Again to get here you would have to really come out side of your element and see what it is this whole cleansing process will do for you. Beside the fact that I lost 20 pounds out of this was just a great bonus.

Here's What We Have Not Eaten
Since the first I have not eaten any form of dairy, any animal product many veggies, eggs, carrots, table salt, rice, wheatt, many grains omitted, sugar. and many things that were in our diet that was just eliminated completely.

MY DISCLAIMER
PLEASE READ.........I wrote this for those of you who feel there has to be another way, another option that can enable you to live a health life without counting calories or worring about when a next out break of bacteria will happen on these wonderfulk things we call food.

Again before I went on this journey I was READY. mentally, physically and most of all spiritually. You have to be very much ready for this. take sometime do some research on your own. Then to get more indepth with what you  have learned you can contact Annette:

[HONORABLE MENTIONS]

Via Moptop Maven

Nikole Crowe is blogging about life, fashion art... but one reason why I appreciate her blog is the fact that she is true to herself... doesn't try to hard and is free spirited when writing her posts.

Also in my transition from chemical to natural she is one of my educational resources.

Love this site.
